Marketing your local business online

No matter what line of business you're in, if you're not mining for new customers online you can bet your competition is

There is now a proven service available to help you boost your business

Running a small local business requires a lot today. So, if you're marketing your local business online, I've got great news for you. You're in the minority. And that's a good thing. It means you're strategically out maneuvering your competition and this means a brighter outlook for you over the long haul.

I've previously mentioned in some of my articles that my brother-in-law operates a local small business. He is in the picture framing business, actually, it's a franchise business. I don't know much about this niche market but I what I can tell you is that it's tough getting customers to walk in the front door on a consistent basis.

He actually provides a superior product to the community that makes him stand out but his revenue still has lots of ups and downs to contend with. His current form of local small business marketing falls into the "typical" category as far as franchises go.

I have asked him on occassion, "have you considered the possibility of marketing your local business online"? His initial reaction was a bit skeptical and I can understand why. He is doing all he can to run his business under the current marketing model and therefore doesn't believe he could find anymore time to devote to a new marketing concept.

It's a shame because he wouldn't have to do much at all and still be able to reap the benefits of this marketing model. Again, I can relate to the frustration he deals with. He has to balance filling the role of business "manager" and business "owner". From what I can see on most days, his business is running him rather than the other way around.

The problem offline business owners have is that they are not prepared to be marketers. Plumbers are plumbers, retailers are retailers and mechanics are mechanics. They are in constant need of new customers to survive and keep their business growing. They have to do many things to run their business successfully, and marketing is just a small part.

If you're like them you typically market your business by advertising in local newspapers, handing out flyers, and counting on word-of-mouth. But as far as marketing your local business online is concerned you probably don't have a clue. All you probably know is that this is for businesses bigger than yours or you simply don't feel comfortable with the internet.

That's where you really need to think like a business "owner" rather than a business "manager". The owner of a business is thinking of the future all the time. The manager is dealing with the day-to-day issues. As a business owner you can't overlook marketing your local business online.

More and more people use the internet to find local products and services in thier area. This is true especially in the case of younger buyers who were brought up with the internet. These people don't even think of looking in the Yellow Pages or other local paper business directories. They head straight for thier computers and the internet.

By having a local website, marketing your local business online can easily boost your own business. Many local businesses in your community know they should either advertise on the internet or have their own website, but simply don't know how. This is where an online marketer can help them.

Now, if you're one of those local business owners who already have a site, I'm willing to bet that you're not getting much "new" traffic to your site. Most of your visitors are probably customers who already do business with you or come from referring "potential" customers there via your business card. Actually, this kind of site is nothing more than an online business card. This is not where you want to be with your business marketing effort.

An online marketer can help you gain "new" business through their knowledge as an online marketer. They will know how to build a website, how to get targeted traffic that is looking for your type of business product or service, how to get a good ranking in the search engines and how to build a responsive list of customers that you need to make money online.

The right online marketer will also be able to help you reduce your advertising budget because you won't need to spend a large amount of money on local newspaper and Yellow Pages ads. And for that, small business owners are very willing to pay them for thier services.

The company that is best suited for this is SiteSell Services. They already have thousands of satisfied customers that you can look into and see for yourself.
