How did I become the Atlanta internet business adviser? Well, my story is similar to others who had a great need to overcome what seemed to be impending financial disaster.What you're seeing at the moment actually is the result of what started in 1999, I had no idea I would someday be an internet home business owner with his very own website reaching people all over the world. I was working as a Facilities Management Consultant for a large Management Services company located in Downers Grove, Illinois in the USA. My career started out with a great prospects for the future. I seemed to be well suited to the work I was doing. After the 10 year mark I was bored with my job, underpaid, overworked and looked forward to clocking out at the end of every day. I couldn't seem to get my groove back. No matter how hard I worked it didn't seem to help my career. I guess the bosses I reported to had other things on their minds. My career growth seemed to stall. Then suddenly I was given the opportunity to relocate to the west coast. Considering that my career wasn't doing much at the time I thought it was a great time to take a chance and venture out into something new. So, my family and I made the move. I soon reached the point where my tenure with this company reached 18 years, I had just purchased a beautiful house in southern California and things seemed to be looking rosy again. And then suddenly, my career came to an abrupt halt. My employer told me that a change had to be made in order to save the business unit I was assigned to oversee (this came as a shock to me). I was told that I would be replaced (by someone who was a good "friend" of my boss) but that I could stay on in a different capacity (with a pay cut of course) if I wanted to. I opted not to take the offer. Enough was enough. I left that day with no prospects for a similar paying job. I spent the next 5 years working at all sorts of jobs (primarily in sales)that in my opinion, I was not very good at and could not earn enough money to support my wife and five kids. In 2004 I made the decision to sell our home. This was very difficult for me because I truly loved the home that my wife and I had built. The thought of someone else living in it really bothered me. I simply could not imagine living anywhere else in the world. We had made wonderful new friends and were established in our local church and the kids were doing well in school. All these factors made it very hard to move forward with the sale of our home. But nonetheless our home sold very quickly and we moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to my wife's family. She had a brother in the area, and her parents who lived close by in Florida. When we arrived in the Atlanta area I still had no decent prospects for a good job. However, during our last year in California I had just learned about affiliate marketing as an option to building an internet home business and eventually becoming a website owner. I did'nt know very much but everything I had read on the subject said a lot of people were making a good living at it and it didn't seem very difficult to do. It was not my plan to become an Atlanta internet business adviser. Still, I was ready to take the plunge but had no idea where to start. After a couple of months I landed a job with a mortgage company (once again, a sales job) and I made the decision to purchase our very first home computer at that time and thus began the process of learning about the internet and how to make money online as a website owner and slowly but surely the transformation of the Atlanta internet business adviser began.
The Learning Begins...
The first really valuable resource I purchased was an e-book called "The definitive guide to Google Adwords", by Perry Marshall. It opened up a whole new world to me and got me thinking that making money online was indeed something that I could do. After all, as the Atlanta internet business adviser I would have to be able to say to others that I've been able to make a decent income online. However, as I continued to read and study I had no idea that the internet was this powerful and held so much potential for the eager entrepreneur. So, I took the plunge and signed up with Google Adwords and started creating campaigns just like I had learned from studying this awesome e-book. That first year as the new Atlanta internet business adviser I made over $12,000. In real terms that isn't a lot of money but I came to find out later that most people who try their hand at making money online never achieve this and eventually quit. Well, I did about as well with this as I had with my Adwords campaigns. Monetize Convert warm, willing-to-buy ("PREsold") visitors into income. Called "Monetizing," this is the easy part. But "M" cannot happen if you fail to first execute C T P. Almost immediately after building the site you are viewing and submitting my site to the search engines I was getting indexed and within several months I was getting targeted traffic from Google. As a result, I didn't feel it was necessary to use PPC advertising any longer to get the traffic the Atlanta internet business adviser desperately needed. Not that I wouldn't use it but I know that I don't have to. The one thing that I was impressed by the most and that really kept me coming back to Site Build It were the testimonials. And the result is...
I now consider myself an Infopreneur by night and the Atlanta internet business adviser by day. I have developed 10 new website ideas that I will start shortly in addition to this site. Each one is set up for a specific niche market. My goal is to generate enough income from my sites to allow my wife and I to live the style that is without worry from finances and to be a blessing to our children and grand-children. Once this is put in place the Atlanta internet business adviser will set out to work with small business owners in the area to educate and motivate them to use the power of the internet to build thier business.
