Then you have to learn how to find and choose more than one lucrative affiliate marketing opportunity.

An affiliate marketing opportunity is where you sell someone else's products or if you have one of your own you can have other people sell your products. When someone purchases the product that you are marketing through your special link; then you will receive a commission off of the purchase price. The commissions will vary in range from 50% - 75%. If you sell an e-book that costs $39, then you would profit around $20. There are thousands of products you can choose from.

How do you choose a product from an affiliate marketing opportunity that you can make money with? This is where many people get stuck; they tend to browse and browse the marketplace in search of a product they hope that sells. The easiest way to find a profitable affiliate marketing opportunity  is to find out what people are selling. I usually go with a product that has a high gravity percentage. The reason I choose this method is because I know that people are already purchasing the product. You also want to look at the sales page of the product; if it is appealing
to you and you would buy; then chances are so will other people.

There are thousands of choices when it comes to an affiiliate marketing opportunity to choose from. I want to share with you five methods you can use to find an affiliate marketing opportunity to join. But before I do that I want to mention some things to consider when you're trying to distinguish an excellent affiliate marketing opportunity from an average one.

1. Look for an affiliate marketing opportunity that provides a a high "pay rate" for each sale. Afterall, it takes just as much effort to to market a product or service with small commissions as it does to market one with large commissions. I stress this because the higher the commission, the less traffic you will need to meet your revenue goals.

2. Look for an affiliate marketing opportunity that offers unique products in a HOT market.

3. You'll want "lifetime commissions" whenever possible. Some programs within and affiliate marketing opportunity give you commissions on every product that is sold to the customer, forever.

4. Be sure to find out how often they send checks. Some affiliate marketing opportunity will send checks every week, others will send it every 2 weeks or even once per month. 

5. and finally, you can increase your revenue potential with two-tier programs. This simply means that you can create an "extra" stream of income without doing anything for the life of the program. A two-tier affiliate marketing opportunity rewards you for referring other affiliates to the merchant as well as for customers. You receive a percentage of their commissions as well.

Now what makes up a lucrative affiliate marketing opportunity let's look at some methods of finding those lucrative opportunities.

1. Focus on an affilate marketing oppportunity whose programs have a very high profit potential. These are easy to find. Yahoo's Overture (http://www.overture.inventory.com) is a useful source for this task Look for sites that spend a lot money per click. If they can afford to pay for these clicks this means a higher profit potential for you.

Once you've found a profitable affilate marketing opportunity visit the site and click on its links. These are the merchants' links. Once you arrive on the merchants' site look for links that say "Affiliate Program" of "partners" or something similar. Find the merchant that offers the best  commissions and has the best affiliate marketing opportunity . Sign up with that merhant as an affiliate for free.

2. Find a profitable niche in the USA that has not been fully exploited in the UK or Europe and set up your Google Adword campaign for these countriies.

3. You can look for products of company names that are highly search for but do not yet have many websites or Adwords competing for them. Using the WordTracker Tool for this is very helpful. It not only shows you how many times a word has been searched for, but also shows you how many competing sites there are for those terms.

One nice feature about WordTracker is that you can buy various time segments. When you first start out you should just buy access to the tool for one week. Do as much research  as possible and print out the reports it generates. This will prepare you to make a profitable decision. As you become successful you may want to pay the monthly fee for constant access to the tool.

4. Read newspapers and magazines. Read the Lycos 50, a daily report on Lycos.com by Aaron Schatz. He talks about the top 50 keyword searches on Lycos and makes predictions. Reading this page a colleague of mine found out about Dragonball Z, Beyblades and Furreal Friends.

5. Another way to find potential lucrative programs is to look at such an Affiliate Marketing Opportunity as Clickbank ,  CJ or one of the other affiliate marketing opportunity such as CPAempire.

Clickbank now has over 110,000 affiliates working through them, selling the products that Clickbank offers to thousands of others.

If you go to Clickbank and head over to the Marketplace you will see 9 categories of products. Under each of those categories are hundreds of products. And all of these products have specific POPULARITY and GRAVITY weights to them. These are simple but important measures of determining the most profitable affiliate products

This is similar to using the KEI index you find with WordTracker Tool. You want to choose a product that has a gravity of at least 60. this will give the greatest conversions when you market them correctly. Look at the gravity of the ones I've selected below...

Here's another one. If you want to see specifically how well one program is doing in terms of it being a rising star or a falling rock, go to cbtrends.com. Have with you the ID of the program you wish to do research on.There you'll be able to see which programs are in up popularity trends, which ones have peaked, and which ones should be avoided because they are falling.

The great thing about having an affiliate business is that it does  not matter whether you have your own website. You do not have to have website to begin experience affiliate marketing success. Yes it is advisable to have your own site; however do not let this stop you from pursuing your business.

Once you pick your niche and have set up your special link the most important part of the business begins. You have to learn how to draw traffic to your site; this is the part that most people fail to have success. There are several methods that you can begin drawing traffic to your site. You can start with PPC, E-mail marketing, Article Marketing, Blogging and several other methods.
