A Tortoise Story: First day > 3000 visitors

I feel a bit uncomfortable about posting this. I don't do this to boast, but I hope this provides some encouragement for those of you who are newer to this than I am and have not reached high traffic/income levels yet.

I just wanted to share a new little highlight in my SBI-journey: today was the first day I received more than 3,000 visitors on best-running-tips.com.

My site is almost five years old, so that good ol' tortoise story is definitely coming true for me as well. I think it was November/09 or around that time when I first hit 2,000 visitors on a single day, so I guess my tortoise is on steroids as of late... :D

If you are discouraged about your traffic in the first 6-12 months, some happy stats:

Apr05 - started site
Dec05 - 24 uniques / day !
Apr06 - ~100 uniques / day
Apr07 - ~200 uniques / day
Apr08 - ~500 uniques / day
Apr09 - ~1,100 uniques / day
Feb10 - ~1,900 uniques / day

So, it was definitely not all good from day one as you can see, and I don't think I am a very talented internet marketeer.

What I do have is perseverance. I told myself when I started my site that I would do this, part-time (I have a day job) for five years and would then evaluate. My goal was to create a $1000/month income within those five years.

I have passed that and am now on my way to higher goals... income has tripled every year. Need to continue to do that for the next two years and it's bye-bye to the day-job... I am counting the days... :)

I am pretty convinced that I will get it to a level which would allow some more freedom in future choices regarding work, time spent working and how and where we live our lives.

I don't have any shocking wisdom to add other than that if you follow the action guide, build your keyword focused content pages and just keep on building and working on it then your chances of success are pretty good. I think that in itself is pretty good news, as this is another example of someone following the formula and having great results.

If you needed more convincing, yes, this stuff really works!

With that said, time to stop this post and put another page online... :wink:

P.S. I have got 3 SBI! sites now and sometimes don't touch one for 4-6 months. Absolutely nothing. No negative effect. That's the power of a good asset. It grows your income without it needing your time.
